Oh man, we woke up this morning and David's WHOLE foot is SUPER swollen and sore to the touch! I knew we needed to get him to a doctor--fast! His stomach was very crampy also, and the pain was moving up his leg. I asked Rory about a clinic, and after hearing David's symptoms, he proceeded to call a doctor on our behalf. We wanted to bless the hostel and Rory for all his help, so we cleaned the entire kitchen. After a few calls, Rory informed us that there was a doctor in the village (about a 10 minute walk), and we headed off.
While David went in to wait for the doctor, I went to call our travel insurance people. If you don't call before you get treatment, you risk not getting coverage. The number on our card didn't even exist, and I tried the other number numerous ways, and still couldn't get through... I took a deep breath and headed back to the clinic, praying that this bill wouldn't get stuck with us.
Turns out, David has cellulitis (his response to that: "Isn't that something that fat people get?" Haha...) and it was SUPER good that he got in when he did! We left the clinic without taking our payment receipt, promising we'd return, so that we could try again getting through to our medical "before" proof of treatment. David actually found an alternative health insurance number and we sorted all of that out, returned for our receipt and prescription, and got some antibiotics into my man!
We wanted to head to the library to use the free internet. I made David sit down (all that walking = no good... he's supposed to be in bed with ice and his foot up! ...Which is where we'll be after these posts... :)) and I went to find it. I seriously asked 4 people and got 4 different responses! They all told me the same street, but different sides and corners and coloured buildings from them all, haha! Thankfully I found it, but the computers were in use, so we conceded to use an internet cafe for now. Now it's time for me to go and buy some ice for Superman and get him back to the hostel to rest and maybe watch the Olympics! Oh and PLEASE, if someone could keep me updated with how the equestrian events are going, that'd be swell :). Also, if you need to get ahold of us for any reason, or even just to say "hi", feel free to email or facebook us--we're checking those!
